ReplyDeleteI was just sitting here in 114A and I wanted to let you know how excited I am to be joining the ELA Resource room with you. Remember this is new for both of us so we will take it slow at first and before you know it you will be a reading and writing machine!
I will be checking this blog daily to make sure that you are keeping up with your work. It says in the "Blog Expectations" post that each response must be a paragraph long and must follow proper punctuation and sentence structure but does spelling and grammar count?

ReplyDeleteThat is a fantastic question, Mr. Ney! Thank you for bringing that to my attention. To answer that question, I would say that yes spelling does count. Zach, you have been working on using spell check with your computer - please check any words that come up with a red squiggly line. The red lines show up even on Blogger. Try your best with the grammar...as long as we can figure out what you are trying to say, that is great. Remember - Mr. Ney will be with you and he is there for questions. If you do not know how to word something, ASK HIM!

I feel good about being in here. I feel that the book i will be reading will be easier for me to read in here. I feel that the book in here will be easier because it's on my reading level. I like being in because it is easier to for.

Zach, I am glad you are feeling better about ELA - we don't want you to be overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteYou have some good questions, Zach. I think we will be reading this one book this year - we only have this last quarter and I think it will take most of the quarter to read the whole book and do all the activities I have planned. We will probably also be working on some short stories. To answer your second question, about your ELA grade...yes, your grade in the resource room will count as your ELA grade. I believe that on your report card, it will now say ELA with Miss Broda. You will still get a separate grade for the reading block.
I feel good about being in the resource room E.L.A.The book will be easier for me to read in the resource room. I feel that Maniac Magee will be easier to read because it's on my reading level.I like being in the resource room because reading will be easier for me to focus on.The resource room will be much easier for me.
